Tis The Season – To Recycle Christmas Trees [AUDIO]

The presents have been unwrapped, and the new year is nigh, so its time to recycle that Christmas tree.
The City Parks and Recreation Department has once again opened three different sites where residents can drop off their natural Christmas trees to be recycled. They are at Playfair Park, McCormick Park and at the Fort Missoula Regional Park.
Urban forester Greg Howe says before dropping off the tree, remove all lights, ornaments and tinsel. The trees will made into mulch which will be used on trails in city parks. There is no charge for dropping off the trees, however, Howe says cash donations are being accepted at the McCormick Park drop-off site.
