Political yard signs are popping up all over Missoula. Some folks have just one sign, others have a dog-pile of signs that barely seem to fit on the small patch of lawn they sit on. It's easy to see why someone would put a sign in their yard for a close family member or friend. It's even easy for me to see why someone would put up a  sign for someone that they agree with strongly, but many times, you'll even see opposing candidates (usually primary level) on the same lawn.

For the first time in my life, I have my own lawn and I am torn about what to do. Frankly, I think my poorly manicured lawn would probably hurt the chances of any politician that managed to get a sign placed in my yard. I want to support the politicians I like, but at the same time I don't want to make all of my new neighbors angry or deal with people driving through my lawn (I only mention this because my parents had people drive through their lawn when they put signs up). I know I'm probably just being a chicken and I'll likely throw a sign in my yard after the primary elections in June. In the meanwhile, I want to know what you think?
