Two separate criminal cases, a car and gun theft being investigated by Missoula County Sheriff’s Detectives and Missoula City Police investigating the gun case of the Willard High School student along with a stolen vehicle from Hellgate High School broke wide open Wednesday when authorities were able to connect all of the cases. A group of juveniles in the West Riverside area, which included a student involved in the Willard gun case, were being investigated by the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office and through that investigation detectives were able to obtain a confession of the county’s gun case. Information Officer Jason Johnson explains further.

The Toyota was recovered in an alley on Toole Ave. The handgun was removed from the waistband of one of the suspects being interviewed. The two 15 year old juvenile suspects in the stolen gun case face multiple misdemeanor charges as well as possible felony charges from the Missoula Police Department for taking the vehicle.
