According to a report put together by scientists from the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute and the Fish and Wildlife Service, it was estimated that cats in the United States (both domestic and feral) kill 2.4 billion birds and 12.3 billion mammals a year.

HAMILTON, Mont. (AP) — The Ravalli County sheriff's office says a retired racehorse found dead on a ranch near Hamilton was not shot as it initially appeared, but the cause of death is not clear.

Malamute Owner Allows Some Dogs to be Adopted

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — A Jefferson County man who faces 91 counts of animal cruelty over conditions in kennels that housed about 160 malamutes has agreed to release 33 of them for adoption.
