Missoula County followed the stage 1 fire restrictions over the holiday weekend, but many may be wondering what that means now.

"We continue as we go into July to set records as far as our fuel conditions, our fire danger, and as far as it being this this early in the season," Missoula Officer of Emergency Management Adrian Beck said. "The temperatures have moderated a little bit unfortunately its not significant enough to change the outcomes of the hazards and conditions that are out there. So, our fire danger continues to be at extreme and stage 1 restrictions continue to be in place."

Beck says that these stage one restrictions are super important to follow now that the wind has been picking up.

"We continue to ask people to use common sense," Beck said. "It is extremely dry out there, so be very careful with all your activities. Anything that produces heat or has potential to generate sparks just be very cognizant with your surroundings."
