A Sonoma County woman has turned herself in for what she says was her involvement in the 2012 death of her baby daughter in Montana.

The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports that 23-year-old Amanda Gilbert went to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department on Friday and told investigators of her role in the 3-month-old baby's death.

Officials say the Rohnert Park woman was booked into jail on a no-bail warrant. Sonoma County sheriff's officials contacted Montana authorities, who issued a holding order for Gilbert on suspicion of murder.

Police officials in Billings, Mont., say an autopsy of Gilbert's daughter revealed the child had injuries consistent with "foul play," but the cause of death was inconclusive. The mother and father were suspects in the case.
