Should We Change the Way We Elect Montana Supreme Court Justices?[Interview]
In June, Montana voters may have the opportunity to change the way Montana Supreme Court Justices are chosen. Bill LR-119 also known as the "Fair Court Referendum" would make it so that Montana Supreme Court justices are elected by region rather than in a State-wide election. The issue is likely to be on the June 5th ballot, but has already been challenged as unconstitutional by a lawsuit started in November. KGVO News spoke with the bills sponsor, State Senator Joe Balyeat about the ideas behind the bill. Here is that interview.
