Senator John Walsh's Bring Jobs Home Act was defeated by a filibuster on the Senate floor today.

Walsh said this "commonsense legislation" failed because of partisan politics. He added that just one week ago, senators from both parties voted to move forward a proposal to provide tax credits for companies that bring jobs back to America that have been outsourced overseas.

"Millions of American jobs have been sent overseas in recent decades," Walsh said. "Too many large corporations have opened factories in countries like China or Mexico while closing factories right here in the United States. We need to do what we can to extend the tide and reward companies that bring jobs back to America."

Walsh’s Bring Jobs Home Act is said to close tax loopholes for companies that move overseas and reward those that return jobs to the U.S.
