Update 12:00 p.m. Monday..

Deputy Bob Parcell says the two missing snowmobilers from Helena were found safely just before noon on Monday not far from Seeley Lake by a helicopter from Kalispell. Parcell says the two men built a fire and stayed put with their snowmobiles overnight, then tried to hike out in the morning. The helicopter picked up the two men who were tired and cold, but uninjured.

Missoula County Search and Rescue was called out at about 10:30 Sunday night to look for two missing snowmobilers in the Seeley Lake area.

Deputy Bob Parcells with the county sheriff’s department says the two Helena men went into the area Sunday afternoon and have not been heard from since.

Parcells says the area has received significan snowfall, so the snowmobile tracks are difficult to follow. The falling snow is also keeping any aircraft that might be able to assist on the ground.

The search went on all night, and will continue throughout the day.
