Poverello Center Gears Up For Thanksgiving Feast [AUDIO]

Missoula’s homeless shelter, the Poverello Center, is busily preparing for their annual Thanksgiving celebration.
Poverello Center director Erin Fowler Pehan says the all-day feast will serve hundreds of people, many of whom are homeless, many are underemployed, on the road, or just experiencing some hard times. Fowler-Pehan says the Thanksgiving meal…served with turkey, ham and all the trimmings, is a time of hard work for those preparing and service the meal, but it also incredibly rewarding.
She says many church and community service groups come to the Center to volunteer during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Children around the area create hand-made decorations and businesses donate items the Center needs.
Anyone who wants to volunteer, not just during the holidays, but anytime..please contact the Poverello Center at 728-1809.
