In the past week, Montana's pump prices rose nearly three cents per gallon, a trend that is likely to continue until September.

Montana's average prices are 25.5 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 2.9 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has increased 12.1 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 20.2 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.

Gasbuddy.com Petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan says that prices will probably stay in the 3.40 to 3.70 range until the end of summer and that Montana should expect prices to bottom out again between thanksgiving and Christmas.
