A 23-year-old woman is dead after a car accident Friday night in Mineral County, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported around 5 p.m. on Interstate 90 near Alberton.

Montana Highway Patrol troopers say the car the woman was driving lost a tire while moving at highway speeds, which caused the car to hit the median, flip, and roll down an embankment.

The car was also carrying an adult male passenger and two children, who were strapped into car seats and survived with minor injuries, according to authorities.
