In Montana, gas prices have declined to new lows, dropping by almost 9 cents in the last week of January. The drop is so substantial, it is outpacing the national average by two-thirds. The dropping prices mean good news for drivers in Montana, especially those in the bigger cities down into the $1.70's.

According to gasbuddy.com petroleum analyst, Patrick DeHaan, gas prices are likely to continue to fall over the next week, by two to five cents. The drop will likely be spurred on by an extreme winter storm expected to hit the northeast and keep drivers off the roads in many major urban areas.
