Missoula County Attorney’s Office Faces ‘an Unusual Number of Violent Crimes’
More than half of the felony cases dealt with by the Missoula County Attorney’s office this past week were violent crimes.
"It's been a pretty average week in terms of volume," said Missoula Deputy County Attorney Jason Marks. "We filed eight new felony cases this week, but it definitely seems busier, I think in part, because half of those were assault with a weapons cases. Definitely an unusual number of violent crimes."
The weapons used in this weeks crimes include a pipe, two knives, and a handgun. On top of the assault with a weapons cases, there were two cases of Methamphetamine possession, a burglary and a case of sexual intercourse without consent.
