Damon Parsons, 40, was charged in Missoula Justice Court on Monday, February 24, with sexual intercourse without consent, for allegedly raping a 13 year-old girl in 2012.

According to court documents, a representative of the Montana Child Abuse Hotline contacted Detective Scott King of the Missoula Sheriff's Office to report that a then 38 year-old male, Damon Parsons, had sexual intercourse without consent with a 13 year-old girl, identified only as Jane Doe. The girl was interviewed at First Step, and described the rape that allegedly occurred in August of 2012.

Deputy Missoula County Attorney Jessica Finley, appearing for Patricia Bower, asked Judge Karen Orzech for a high bail.

"Your honor, Ms. Bower is requesting that the bail be set in the amount of $100,000 due to the serious nature of the allegations by the victim in this case," Finley said. "Detectives were unable to locate him, as his original appearance was set for December of 2013, and his whereabouts have been unknown since."

Judge Orzech granted Finley's request and set bail at $100,000. Parsons was remanded back to the Missoula County Jail.

Sexual intercourse without consent is a felony, punishable by not less than two to four years, or more than 100 years or life in the Montana State Prison, and a $50,000 fine.
