A 25-year-old Billings man is charged with felony aggravated assault after a 3-month-old boy was taken to the hospital with head injuries in September 2010.

The Billings Gazette reports Levi Brian Jarod Boucher made an initial appearance in Justice Court Tuesday.

Justice of the Peace Larry Herman set Boucher's bond at $20,000. Boucher's arraignment is set for March 27.

Court records allege Boucher was babysitting on Sept. 27, 2010, while the child's mother was at work. He reported he dropped the child, but medical reports indicated the injuries appeared to be from an escalating pattern of physical abuse.

Police received medical records in November that show the child's development has been delayed, he was receiving physical and occupational therapy and required medication to treat seizures.
