Brandon Lee Rasmussen was walking down the street on Friday afternoon, when a Missoula Police officer recognized him as being wanted for an outstanding warrant.

Public Information Officer Travis Welsh has details.

“Rasmussen was arrested on Friday afternoon at about 2:45, after officers recognized him walking down the street near the intersection of Toole and West Broadway,” said Welsh. “Mr. Rasmussen had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, and U.S. Marshals and Missoula police officers took him into custody.”

Welsh said officers found even more reason to take Rasmussen into custody after they searched his pockets.

“After that, they found that Mr. Rasmussen had a small amount of methamphetamine,

and so, along with the warrant, he is also being held for felony possession dangerous

drugs,” he said.

The 40 year-old Rasmussen is being held on a total bond of $65,000.
