At about 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1, Missoula police responded to the 1700 block of South 13th Street for a report of a man who was bleeding from a head wound.

Sergeant Jim Klowitter said the man was badly injured from an assault.

"A 35 year-old male Missoula resident was transported to St. Patrick Hospital via ambulance for treatment of a serious, but not life-threatening injuries reportedly sustained by being struck with a pool cue," Klowitter said."Upon investigation, officers arrested at 41 year-old male Missoula resident who remained at the scene. The suspect is being held on felony charges of assault with a weapon."

The suspect will appear Thursday afternoon to face charges in Missoula Justice Court.
