Missoula Police found a lot more than just a stolen car when they spotted one on Mullan Road last Friday, March 30.

"An officer discovered a vehicle in a parking lot located in the 3400 block of Mullan Road that had been previously reported stolen in the city of Billings," said Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh. "The officer watched the car for a while and observed a male and female come out to the car who were identified as 48-year-old William Bigby and 64-year-old Josephine Neary."

It turns out the two are related, and both received charges during the arrest.

"It appears that Mr. Bigby is Mrs. Neary's nephew," Welsh said. "The investigation revealed that Mr. Bigby was in possession of the vehicle. Also, that the vehicle contained dangerous drugs that were associated with the vehicle. As a result, Mr. Bigby was arrested for original theft of the vehicle and Mrs. Neary was arrested for drug offenses."

The drug involved is methamphetamine, but it is unclear if the meth was purchased in Missoula or elsewhere in the State. Bigby in particular has a long rap sheet with charges from multiple Montana counties for things like theft, burglary and drugs.
