Just moments ago I concluded my conversation with embattled Senator John Walsh. On Wednesday a New York Times story raised questions of plagiarism surrounding the final paper required for Mr. Walsh’s master’s degree from the United States Army War College.

When asked directly, 'Did you knowingly plagiarize any author or any idea,' Walsh answered,'I did not try to deceive anybody at all.'

Elsewhere in the conversation, the senator distances himself from the earlier statement:

"I don't want to blame my mistake on PTSD, but I do want to say it may have been a factor," Walsh said. "My head was not in a place very conducive to a classroom and an academic environment."
