Last weekend, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks had to euthanize a grizzly bear after the bear killed sheep near Lincoln.

"Well it's a bear that has gotten in trouble with sheep before. When that happens, we often put an ear tag in those bears and relocate them in the hopes that we won't see them again," Crowser said. "Unfortunately, this bear did turn back up. We were able to identify it with the tag and then using remote cameras, confirm that it was the bear responsible for the recent depredations and we set a trap for it."

Wildlife officials discovered from tagging records that this bear had killed three sheep at the same location in 2012, and had been relocated to the South Fork of the Flathead River at that time.

The grizzly was male, weighing in at 425 pounds.
