HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Montana State University Extension says it has hired a person with 34 years of fire experience to run its Fire Services Training School.

Tom Solberg has spent most of his fire services career in Lee's Summit, Mo., and before that in Peoria, Ariz. MSU Extension director Douglas Steele says Solberg's experience is strong.

Solberg will begin his duties in August. That's when Seldon "Butch" Weedon will retire after 30 years as director of the school.

The Fire Services Training School provides professional development for community fire and rescue services.
