Fire Burning Above West Riverside

A fire that was first reported just after 6 o’clock this evening is now burning above West Riverside and was headed through the trees over the hill towards Bonner. Chief for Missoula Rural Fire Station One Bill Colwell says several agencies are battling the blaze including the department of natural Resources, Missoula Rural Fire, Clinton and Frenchtown Fire departments. Some of Colwell’s comments are attached.

The fire is reportedly burning not far from the Greenland Trailer Park. Fire crews are asking onlookers to keep their distance from the fire.
