Extradition Procedures Begin For Suspects In Missing Teacher Case

Two men face aggravated kidnapping charges in the disappearance of Sidney High School teacher Sherry Arnold. The men, Lester Vann Waters, Jr. and Michael Keith Spell are in custody in North Dakota awaiting extradition proceedings, which authorities say have begun and could be completed within 30 days. Both Waters and Spell are residents of Colorado. Authorities say Waters had been living in Florida and does have a criminal history in that state.
Sherry Arnold went missing January 7, 2012 in her home town of Sidney, sometime after leaving her residence for a morning run. Few details have been released about the kidnapping including why she is presumed dead, since a body has yet been found and what led authorities to arrest the two men.
