Coroner: Idaho Baby’s Death Homicide, Dad Jailed

A southwest Idaho man has been charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of his infant son.

Ada County Prosecutors charged 19-year-old Reynaldo "Lucas" Sanchez on Monday and is in the Ada County Jail on a $1 million bond.

The coroner determined Monday that infant Adrien Sanchez died Saturday of blunt force trauma to the head and ruled the death a homicide.

Authorities say the baby was born Sept. 20 and fatally injured late last week while in the care of his father. At a hearing Monday, prosecutors said the baby had a fractured skull and leg, and broken ribs, pinch marks on his face and other signs of abuse.

Investigators say Sanchez called neighbors in Boise Friday to say his son had fallen out of an infant bouncy seat.
