University of Montana Athletic Director Jean Gee confirmed to KGVO News on Friday that former Grizzly quarterback Jordan Johnson will be able to keep his athletic scholarship, should he decide to return to classes in the fall. Gee says the charge of sexual intercourse without consent may have led to Johnson's suspension from the football team, but his scholarship remains intact.

Gee says the scholarship is separated from team activities, and is the result of a contract between the University of Montana and Jordan Johnson. If he had simply walked away from the team and refused to play, his scholarship would have been voided, but due to the circumstances of his situation, he did not leave the team voluntarily, hence, the scholarship remains in place.
