Cause of Death Released in Christmas Tree Hunt

54 year-old Scott Greene of Missoula died of a heart attack Sunday afternoon while on a trip to harvest a Christmas tree. Missoula County Sheriff's Public Information Officer Jason Johnson identified Greene as the man who fell and struck his head. Greene was with his girlfriend and her daughter when the accident happened in the Pattee Canyon area near the Deer Creek drainage.

According to Sheriff's Department reports, 9-1-1 dispatchers gave the daughter instructions over the phone to perform CPR, and once emergency responders arrived they continued the effort, but they could not revive him.
