There have only been 15 unassisted triple plays in Major League history. This makes the instant inning killer the rarest play in all of baseball.
Although they don’t keep track of such things, it stands to reason there have been more unassisted triple plays than that on the Little League level — just given the sheer number of games played.

NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Mets have put catcher Josh Thole on the seven-day disabled list because of a concussion and promoted catcher Rob Johnson from Triple-A Buffalo.
Thole was elbowed in the head by Ty Wigginton of the Phillies during a play at the plate in the Mets' 5-2 win Monday night

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Carroll College men's basketball coach Brandon Veltri has announced the signing of 6-foot-7 post Jake Hollifield of Jerome, Idaho.
Hollifield averaged 14.6 points and nine rebounds per game for Jerome High School and was named Idaho's 4A/3A player of the year

Texas Rangers slugger Josh Hamilton hit four home runs in his team’s 10-3 win against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards on Tuesday night. Hamilton became the 16th player in Major League Baseball history to accomplish the feat and the first since Carlos Delgado of the Toronto Blue Jays on Sept. 25, 2003.
