The 5 Worst Officiating Mistakes of the 2012 NFL Season (So Far)

As you may have heard, hobos and miscreants are in charge of refereeing NFL games now! Or, rather, the NFL has decided to use high school referees as replacements while it negotiates with the actual referees' union, which has led to the occasional minor controversy. And while Monday's night's disastrous ending to the Packers-Seahawks game is probably the pinnacle (or nadir) of this sad saga, there were already plenty of questionable, puzzling and downright infuriating officiating decisions leading up to it.

I'm a huge Seahawks fan - like so huge that I was jumping up and down in the middle of Buffalo Wild Wings as it appeared that the Seahawks had beat the Green Bay Packers in tonight's (Sept. 24) Monday Night Football game.  However, after seeing the replay, it became rapidly clear to me, and the other Seahawks fans in the bar, that we had nothing to cheer about.

High School JV Football Game Cancelled for Lack of Officials

The Sentinel High School vs. Flathead High School JV football game scheduled for 3:30 p.m. today, Sept. 21, in Missoula has been cancelled. It has been rescheduled to 4 p.m., Monday, Sept. 24, in Kalispell at Flathead High School. Clarification: This game was canceled because school officials were unable to secure enough referees, not because of poor air quality. The 7 p.m. varsity game at Missoula County High School stadium is still scheduled.
