HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Carroll College is ranked second in the NAIA spring football coaches' poll.

St. Xavier of Illinois, which beat Carroll 24-20 in last year's national championship, was the unanimous first-place choice.

St. Xavier returns 21 starters from its 2011 team that posted a 14-1 record. Carroll returns 12 starters, but lost 14 from its 2011 squad that went 13-2.

Marian of Indiana is ranked third while Georgetown of Kentucky is fourth.

Eastern Oregon of the Frontier Conference is ranked 17th while Montana State-Northern received one vote.
