Several people are receiving treatment for bruises and broken bones at Missoula's St. Patrick Hospital after an early morning crash on Highway 93 North at the top of Evaro hill involving a bus carrying ten passengers and a pickup truck. Montana Highway Patrol trooper Phillip Smart says the truck attempted a left-hand turn in front of the bus, and the two vehicles collided.

Smart says the bus did not overturn, and several of the passengers were taken via ambulance and private vehicles to the hospital. He says one of the passengers was being treated for a head trauma, and the driver of the truck suffered a fractured leg, although he says there were no life-threatening injuries. Smart says he does not believe speed or alcohol played a part in the crash, which is still under investigation. Comments from trooper Smart are below.
