On Monday, Montana Grizzly head basketball coach Wayne Tinkle was honored by the Big Sky Conference with his second straight "Coach of the Year" award.The Grizzlies enjoyed a rousing sendoff Tuesday morning on the way to San Jose for a Thursday game against Syracuse.

On Tuesday, the Conference conferred the same honor for the head coach of the Lady Griz, Robin Selvig. This is the 20th time in 35 years that Selvig has received the honor. 2013 is also the 20th time that the Lady Griz have earned a trip to the NCAA Championship tournament.

It was Montana’s first regular-season championship since the 2008-09 season and gave the Lady Griz hosting rights to last week’s postseason tournament, also a first since 2008-09. The Lady Griz will be heading to Spokane for a Saturday afternoon match-up with the Georgia Bulldogs.
