Hellgate Elementary School Superintendent Doug Reisig took some heat when it was announced that there would be firearms safety assemblies for his first, second and third graders, but he said the effort was a complete success.

Hellgate Elementary School Superintendent Doug Reisig said on Thursday that a special assembly on firearms safety will be presented to his first through third graders on September 17.

The Western Montana Fish and Game Association, a 100 year-old sportsmen's organization, is conducting a public sight-in day at their Deer Creek Shooting Club, this Sunday.
