BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Montana State University Billings is eliminating its theater program, its tennis teams and cutting 40 staff positions to address a projected $4.4 million budget shortfall due to decreased enrollment.
After a days-worth of negotiations between the Montana Political Practices Commissioner and legal council for the universities of Dartmouth and Stanford, a letter has been drafted and will be sent to 100,000 Montanans.
It's back to school time for most university students Monday, August 26, but instead of pencils and paper, many prospective Montana students are still lugging around firefighting equipment. Luckily, the Montana University System is working to help alleviate the stress those students might have in trying to make it to class before the bell rings.
