Stage One Air Alert

Missoula City County Health Department has called a stage one air alert because the air has started to deteriorate.

An inversion that has been trapping stagnant air in the Missoula valley for the last several days has triggered a Stage One Air Alert.

The bodies of 79 year-old Beverly Giannonati and her adult son, 57 year-old Gregory Giannonati were discovered in a dump site on Sunday night. The two had been missing since late October.

As of 3 p.m. on Monday, Missoula is in a Stage One Air Pollution Alert, according to the Missoula City County Health Department.

UPDATE - 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 15 The Stage One Air Alert for Missoula was cancelled by the Missoula City County Health Department. The air quality is now rated good to moderate for the Missoula valley.
