South Avenue Bridge

Maclay Bridge will eventually be replaced, as has been the plan for many years.

They are estimating around $65,000 for the repairs and the funding will come from Senate Bill 536.

Missoula County asks the Montana Department of Transportation to take over the controversial South Avenue Bridge project.

The preferred option for a bridge over the Bitterroot River is a new structure planned at the end of South Avenue to replace the aging Maclay Bridge currently in place that connects River Pines Road to North Avenue.

This week, Missoulians will get their first glimpse at plans for the new South Avenue Bridge, which is expected to replace the old Maclay Bridge over the Bitterroot River.
