Appearing on the KGVO Talk Back program on Monday, Montana GOP Chairman Don Kaltschmidt (Don K) made a bold statement that he believed that Democrat Governor Steve Bullock would not defeat Republican Steve Daines for the U.S. Senate.

Democrats Cora Neumann, Mike Knoles, and John Seckinger, all of Bozeman, have dropped out of the Senate race as Bullock announces his bid for Senate seat.

Montana Democratic Party officials say they'll hold a special nominating convention Aug. 16 in Helena to select a replacement candidate for Sen. John Walsh in the U.S. Senate race.
