About 50 Missoula area schoolteachers received training from Missoula law enforcement officers on how to handle an 'active shooter' scenario in their school.
At a middle school in Sparks, Nevada, on Monday morning, a student shot and killed a teacher, then shot himself in the head fatally, according to early police reports.
Bonner School was the scene of mock school violence on Tuesday as Missoula Police, Sheriff, teachers, administrators and hospital personnel took part in training from The Safariland Group out of Ontario, California.
Update 5:30 p.m. (Eastern): Three people in total were taken to the hospital, including one in critical condition.

19 year-old Erik Wengren will spend three days in the Missoula County Jail for making threats over the internet to attack a Wyoming school, such as what occurred in Newtown, Connecticut.
Update: Dr. Alex Apostle, superintendent of School District 1 in Missoula, acknowledged threats on social networking sites, but would not be specific. He said extra security is in place at all Missoula District 1 schools, but he did say that if parents decide to keep their children home today, he respects that decision.
