Hellgate Elementary School’s over 1,500 students are preparing for school to start next week, as parents are gathering all the necessary items to have in-classroom and remote instruction during COVID 19.

Hellgate Elementary School Superintendent Doug Reisig was enthusiastic on Thursday when announcing that the school plans to reopen in the fall with a combination of in-classroom and distance learning options.

Missoula County Public Schools will remain closed for the rest of the academic year due to health and safety concerns related to COVID-19.

UM will continue remote course delivery through the rest of the spring semester due to heightened awareness over the spreading of COVID-19.

Trustees granted superintendent Rob Watson the authority to determine off-site teaching methods for the district and the authority to determine student proficiency for grades K-12.

It’s a big step for the Montana University System, but one for which they’ve been preparing for over the last few weeks.
