A couple of days of sunshine have given way to a cold front heading into western and northwestern Montana, according to the National Weather Service Office in Missoula,
The National Weather Service is expecting very warm moist systems to move through western Montana and eastern Idaho this week that may bring an appreciable amount of snow to the mountains and rain to the valleys.

Meteorologist Corby Dickerson with the National Weather Service office in Missoula said on Tuesday that conditions in the western Montana mountains could worsen to the point that a Winter Storm Watch could be issued for hunters and campers.
So far, the Missoula area has experienced a dry fall, lots of snow over Christmas and into January, and with the advent of February, freezing valley rain and heavy mountain snow.
The National Weather Service is predicting a series of winter weather systems that are headed toward western Montana through the first part of next week.
