Missoula Fire Department crews responded to two emergencies on Monday, first to rescue an injured paraglider on Mt. Sentinel, then to rescue people in the Clark Fork River near the California Street footbridge.
At about 2:00 p.m. on Monday, Missoula Fire Department crews were dispatched to the area of Mount Sentinel for a report of a paraglider that was seen crashing the mountain’s south peak.
The roof at Fran’s Second Hand, located at 601 West Alder collapsed due to the heavy snow on the roof late Monday afternoon, totally destroying the building.
As the temperatures begin to warm this week, the many layers of snow piled on the sides of Mt. Jumbo will begin to shift, so authorities are watching closely while the area is still closed to the public.
