In case you missed the opportunity to meet the pilots and crew of the iconic ‘Miss Montana’ aircraft, you have one more chance on Saturday at the Museum of Mountain Flying at the Missoula International Airport.
Bryan Douglass, one of the pilots and driving forces behind the resurrection and rebuilding of the C-47 aircraft dubbed the ‘Miss Montana’, has just published a book about the experience that debuted at number one on Amazon in the Military Aviation History category.
The Miss Montana C-47 aircraft is at its very heart a cargo plane, and the cargo being delivered by the crew for the next few weeks will be life itself, with pallets of prepackaged meals to flood ravaged families in the Bahamas.
A local church group heard of the Miss Montana mission to provide disaster relief for victims of Hurricane Dorian that decimated the Bahamas, and generously gathered funds and supplies for the trip.
After Hurricane Dorian practically destroyed many of the islands in the Bahamas, Bryan Douglass and the crew of the Miss Montana knew immediately what they had to do.
