Clearwater Credit Union, in a letter, said one of it's file-transfer services known as MOVEit was accessed by an unauthorized third party in mid-June, allowing it to gain access to certain files by the end of the month.

The personal information of a large number of Montanans may have been acquired by hackers recently.

The State of Montana will be receiving some money from the ride sharing company UBER Technologies.

Officials with Western Montana Clinic announced hackers accessed credit card information of nearly 7,000 patients last month.

Approximately 40 million credit and debit card accounts used by Target customers may have been impacted by a major data breach, the retailer said Thursday. Customer names along with credit and debit card numbers may have been accessed, as well as the expiration date and three-digit security code on the back of each card, the store said.

Hackers were able to break into the Associated Press Twitter account and place a false report on an attack at the White House in which President Obama was allegedly injured. The report caused the Dow Jones Industrial Average to drop suddenly.
