Fire managers across western and northwestern Montana have lifted Stage Two fire restrictions, according to Education and Program Manager Dillon Tabish with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.

With the advent of deep summer and with the disaster declaration by Missoula County Commissioners on Wednesday, State Auditor and Insurance Commissioner Matt Rosendale urges those living in the wildland urban interface to make preparations in case of fire.

Fire officials with the Missoula County Fire Prevention Association have increased the fire danger level to high, and continued the policy that debris burning is no long allowed

Missoula Rural Fire has received a $3,000 grant from one of the world's largest commercial insurance companies, FM Global, to assist firefighters in assessing a fire before they even arrive at the scene.
