Two Cut Bank residents were killed and another was injured in a one-vehicle crash in Cut Bank.

GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) — A strong thunderstorm that blew across northern Montana brought strong winds and large hail that caused property and crop damage and power outages along a 300-mile stretch of the state from Cut Bank to Fort Peck.

USA Today reports that J.C. Penney will close 33 under performing stores and lay off 2,000 employees. Two of those stores are in Montana.

Nearly 50 Cut Bank residents have filed a lawsuit alleging their properties have been polluted by petroleum from a crude oil transportation and storage facility on the eastern edge of the city.
