UM Offers Sexual Assault Response and Prevention Certificate Program

Missoula County Attorney Kirsten Pabst was in the city council chambers on Monday for the appearance by officials from the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, she just wasn't invited to speak to the press regarding her department's compliance with its own agreement.

Officials from the U.S. Justice Department, the Montana U.S. Attorney and city and police leaders were on hand Monday to announce that the Missoula Police Department has fully implemented the requirements within its agreement with the DOJ regarding its response to sexual assaults.

In May of 2012, the University of Montana and the City of Missoula entered into a three-year agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division over the issue of sexual assaults on campus and in the community.
