Saturday dawned with fresh snow and cold temperatures, but that didn’t keep shoppers away from the Downtown Missoula Partnership’s celebration of Small Business Saturday.

Now that Black Friday and Cyber Monday have come and gone, retailers in states like Montana are doing whatever they can to survive the onslaught on online retailers like Amazon.

The day after Thanksgiving, known popularly as Black Friday, can be a day of savings, but the Better Business Bureau warns shoppers to be wary of the many dangers that exist, especially when shopping online.

Every year, economists predict how much the gifts mentioned in the song '12 Days of Christmas' will cost in today's economy. In 2012, the estimate is over $107,000.

There were long lines, but shoppers were mostly happy about the deals they found on Black Friday morning. I spoke with several shoppers outside Walmart, Southgate Mall and Best Buy early Friday morning. Most said they had found everything they wanted, many were looking for hot coffee, and almost all said they didn't get much sleep before hitting the stores...
