KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) — Police in Kalispell have called off the search for a missing 41-year-old man after discovering a fatal crash near Lakeside.

Montana Highway Patrol trooper Jim Schneider said Monday a red Jeep Wrangler was being driven southbound on U.S. 93 when it went off the side of the road and down an embankment. It collided with a tree and then rolled and flipped.

The driver was ejected and died at the scene. Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry hasn't released the man's name.

Earlier Monday, police announced a search for Scott Pfeiffer, who was reported missing by his family on Sunday. He was last seen in Kalispell at 6 a.m. Sunday driving a red Jeep Wrangler with a black hard top.
