Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On November 25, 2025, at around 7:30 p.m., the Missoula Police Department responded to reports of shots fired on Ryman Street. Police Public Information Officer Whitney Bennett has the details.
“This evening, just before 7:30 p.m., Missoula Police Department officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 200 block of Ryman Street,” Bennett said. "Upon arrival, officers located a 27-year-old male who had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. Officers immediately began providing medical care and applied treatment to the wound.”
Due to the scene not yet being secure, Bennett said MESI was not permitted to enter the area, and the male was transported by officers to a local hospital for further treatment.

“A shelter-in-place advisory was issued for nearby residents while officers worked to secure the area,” Bennett said. “The advisory is no longer in effect. A firearm was recovered at the scene, and a large perimeter was established with police tape in the downtown area. The 100 block of West Main Street was temporarily closed to the public but has been reopened.”
According to Bennett, officers are actively working to locate additional individuals believed to be involved in this disturbance.
“If you witnessed this incident and have not yet spoken with law enforcement, please contact the Missoula Police Department at (406) 552-6300,” Bennett said. “Additionally, anyone with video surveillance or footage from the surrounding area is urged to reach out to assist in the investigation.”
