The proposed keystone gulf coast expansion project is an approximately 1,661-mile long , 36-inch crude oil pipeline that would begin at Hardisty, Alberta and extend southeast through Saskatchewan, Montana, South Dakota and Nebraska. The proposed Keystone XL pipeline has drawn opposition from a wide range of U.S. Officials, including Nebraska Senator Mike Jones. Dirty fuels campaigner  for Friends Of  The Earth, Alex Moore says over 100,000 citizens have voiced opposition to the pipeline.

 The keystone XL pipeline is currently undergoing a second round of environmental review. Moore says the final decision falls on the shoulders of President Obama.

A public comment period is open through June 6th .
